Tsunami wall mk2

2nd Attempt at a tsunami wall.

Using a sheet of pvc stapled to two wooden stakes to simulate a tsunami wall, me, jason and rowan went out to try capture imagery of what it may look like to be behind the inflatable tsunami wall when it hit. Although people would be safe and would look beautiful, it would also be a very intimidating experience.

Plants (the re-shoot)

The quality of the images from the first shoot aren't quite up to presentation standard so we photographed the plants interacting with the bubble again with my (Rowan's) camera, which would eventually give its life for another experiment the next day.

Rowan, Ken and I went to scorching bay with my "tsunami wall" to try and capture the visual qualities of a tsunami being held back by my inflatable wall.

The BEV use to capture the images of the Mark I experiment didn't show the full extent of the deformation so another 4 hours of watching and and capturing images of pink blobs melting was done

Pink Blobs Mark I

This experiment was done to demonstrate how our bubbles when pressed against would take the impression of those buildings but once those buildings have been removed the bubbles would adapt to their new building free environment and as a result the impressions made in the bubbles by the buildings would slowly lose definition.

More Plaster and Prophylactics

Justin and I went back down to the CBD to take some more plaster casts of Wellington in its present state to show how current buildings would make impressions on our bubbles when inflated between buildings.

Plaster Impressions - Number One

We helped rowan make plaster impressions of buildings, and details around the CBD

We mixed up three condoms at a time and found suitable places that would give subtle but defined impressions.
